Festival MED to return to Algarve city

According to organisers, this year’s festival will bring together artists from around 30 countries, reinforcing the event’s identity as one of Portugal’s leading world music festivals.

The lineup already announced includes names such as Goran Bregović, Salif Keita, Sean Kuti & The Egypt 80, Sérgio Godinho, Bonga, Lura and Arooj Aftab, alongside performers from Africa, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

rganised by the Municipality of Loulé, Festival MED will once again transform the city’s old town into a large open-air cultural venue, combining concerts with gastronomy, handicrafts, street performances and exhibitions.

Several new features are also planned for the 2026 edition, including an expanded festival area, a new MED Lounge space and additional performance areas for street artists. The municipal market will also be more integrated into the programme this year.
