Ryanair warned it cannot refuse boarding with physical boarding passes

ANAC has informed the airline in question [Ryanair] that it must effectively refrain from any behaviour that prevents the boarding of passengers with confirmed reservations on a flight (and check-in completed), due to the fact that they do not have a digital boarding pass,” it emphasised in a statement reported by ECO.

According to ANAC, the airline should also not impose fees for obtaining and using paper boarding passes.

Ryanair recently announced that, starting today, it will no longer accept printed boarding passes, and passengers will have to use only digital boarding passes. To verify any potential inconvenience to passengers, ANAC (Portuguese National Civil Aviation Agency) analysed the information published by Ryanair and the additional clarifications provided by the company.
